Our Story

Promise India Foundation is an Indian NGO that helps reinstate children’s rights to build a society that promises equality, justice and respect. Founded in 2020 by Ms. Shagun Madan, Promise India pledges to promote and devote both time and effort to ensure a healthy, happy, and creative childhood.

To promote, establish, design, administer and monitor educational training, income generation and employment centers, employability training programs, research institutes, documentation centers, libraries and the like to enrich and promote human and social development. To conduct or cause to be conducted research in livelihoods, health, environment, civic amenities, town planning, community organisations, social work, social development, human resource development, income
generation including micro enterprise, housing and related fields.

About Shagun Madan

Shagun Madan is a Founder of Promise India Foundation, a philanthropy, an umbrella entity encompassing ‘every child matters’, for the underprivilege women and children in India. A seasoned business leader, a philanthropist, a social entrepreneur and an investment banker with decades of extensive experience in diversified sectors in India, Australia and UAE. She is an alumnus of IIM Indore, fellow member of ICSI, member of IICA, bachelor of Law and commerce. Her professional journey embraces significant contribution in consulting as well as spearheading initiatives focused on advisory, advocacy and thought leadership. With an innate problem-solving and entrepreneurial mindset, she brings a wealth of expertise and a distinguished track record to the boardroom of various companies as an Independent director. Her ability to identify new opportunities, building strong network & cultivate trusted business relationships has been instrumental in her accomplishments.

Ms Gita Kashyap Perti, is an ex-Principal Director Defence Estates, Ministry of Defence, Southern Command Pune, and an alumnus of the National Defence College, New Delhi. She is also M.A. in philosophy from Bombay University and a have a bachelor degree in law from Pune University. Ms Gita has an extensive experience in dealing with Cantonments in Southern Command and the Defence Estates and Circles of the Southern Command, located in the states of Rajasthan, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Karnataka, and Kerala, Parts of UP, MP, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, the Union Territories of Puducherry, the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, and Lakshadweep Islands. She was a scholar and is recipient of many prestigious award and recognition for her excellence in work from the Govt. of India, Ministry of Home Affairs and from universities for her academic excellence.

Her vision for offering free education to children and nurturing their holistic development, exemplifies her belief in the transformative power of education and knowledge.
